Why invest in your health? Because you are worth it! I think we all want to live the healthiest life we can. No matter our age, we want to be productive, enjoy our time with friends and family, and not feel stressed and burned out, right?
We live in a world with many challenges. We are exposed to so many harmful things like food additives, toxic beauty and skin care products, the air we breathe, the water we drink, electro-magnetic fields, stress from work, lack of physical activity, and the list can go on and on. It can seem overwhelming to battle all these areas especially if you are not feeling your best to start.
Through my education as a health and wellness consultant, I realized that people have a lot of the information to better their own health, but often lack the skills to incorporate this knowledge to improving their health. It is easy to become overwhelmed with all this information, where to start with making changes, and what changes will be best to do first. Because we become so overwhelmed, we often end up doing nothing until we have a health crisis.
So I set out to find additional training so I could be able to offer practical workshops and classes. You can check out all available workshops and classes here plus there will be more added soon.
Anyway, back to additional certification. I found the Academy of Culinary Nutrition based in Canada; this was a super fun online program.
This program was more than I had hoped for; it stretched me in the kitchen (which I already spent a lot of time there), but I gained additional knowledge about holistic food preparation and meal planning by spending more time in my kitchen, which is often my classroom and office! One of the cool things I learned was how to make my own condiments like honey mustard and barbecue sauce. They tasted great and are healthier because no preservatives or additives are added in.
Meghan Telpner, founder of the Academy of Culinary Nutrition, is an inspirational teacher, her joy and passion are contagious. Topics included basic kitchen skills, food preparation, recipe development, fundamentals of nutrition, healing diets, home and body care, and so much more.
You might be thinking this is something you would be interested in doing to invest in your own health. Well “today is the day” as Meghan would say. The next session starts in September so there is still time to sign up. The program takes 14 weeks to complete, and can be a great introduction to training in natural health. There are four levels of commitment, if your desire is to learn more about healthy living and the “how-to’s” for natural health, the basic level would be a great way to invest in your health. You can check out all the opportunities here. There are modules you can check out to view how the online program flows, too.
The Culinary Nutrition Expert Program was a life-changing experience for me. I highly, highly recommend this program to anyone interested in nutrition, cooking and food – you won’t regret taking the plunge. The Academy of Culinary Nutrition kicks off the next semester in September. Get registered if this is the right program for you! Here is a link to check it out.
I encourage you to head on over to the Academy of Culinary Nutrition website to see all the opportunities to invest in yourself; and checkout the classes and workshops that I will be offering this fall.
Be blessed and be a blessing,
Heather
