Wow, December is here and we are in the midst of the holiday season. Here in Minnesota, we just received our first major snowfall. I have been working on a good attitude shoveling the snow – it can be a great full body workout!
Let’s check what produce is in season for the month of December along with recipes to try.
- Brussels Sprouts – Maple Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Bacon
- Grapefruit – Grapefruit Yogurt Cake
- Jerusalem Artichokes – Pan-Fried Jerusalem Artichokes in Sage Butter
- Kiwi – Kiwi Frozen Yogurt Sandwich
- Pomegranate – Pomegranate Guacamole
- Sweet Potato – Baked Garlic Parmesan Potato Wedges
- Winter Squash – Curried Acorn Squash Soup
Eating food in season will provide the most fresh, best tasting, and often the least expensive produce. Enjoy the produce of the season and the recipes. If you have a great recipe for any of these items, share in the comments so we all can enjoy a tested recipe.
Be blessed and be a blessing,
Heather
