A couple years ago I shared a post about the Weston A. Price Foundation. The 20-year-old organization focuses on wise traditions in food, farming, and the healing arts. To celebrate 20 years of providing information on diet and health, they are encouraging people to “Take the 50% Pledge!” The pledge asks people to spend at least 50% of their food dollars on direct purchases from local farmers and artisans. The balance spent on celebrating how small the world really is by the choices we have in food. By participating in this pledge, you will be supporting local farms and artisans. This can help build stronger communities for us all.

I have interviewed farms and artisans in my area and have shared about their farm or business and the products they offer. One of my series is called “Meet Your Farmer”, I will be interviewing more local farms this spring.

Check out the farms or artisans below, and hopefully you can connect and support their ventures. When you connect with them, please mention that you found them via this blog. If you decided to invest in their products and purchase something, it would be great share a picture on Facebook or tag @chronicles_in_health on Instagram. I would love to see what you buy.

I hope you will take part in this pledge and even if you cannot hit the 50% mark, just try to spend more than you did last year with local farmers and artisans. Every bit helps them.

Be blessed and be a blessing,

Heather
